Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Folio (“we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, and protects information when you visit foliotemplates.com, subscribe to our newsletter, fill out a form, or otherwise interact with us. Folio sells digital documentation templates for solo and small private practices and publishes plain-English operational guides.

We keep this simple on purpose: we are a small business, we collect as little as we can, and we never sell your personal information.

Information we collect

We only collect information you choose to give us, plus basic technical data needed to run the site.

  • Email address — if you subscribe to our newsletter or submit a form, we receive the email address (and any details) you provide.
  • Form and survey responses — if you complete a survey or contact form, we receive your answers and any contact details you include.
  • Basic technical data — like most websites, our hosting provider automatically logs standard request data (such as IP address, browser type, pages visited, and timestamps) to deliver the site, keep it secure, and understand aggregate traffic. We do not use this to identify you individually.

We do not knowingly collect sensitive personal information, and you should not send us any protected health information (PHI) or client data through this site.

How we use your information

  • To send you the newsletter or content you requested.
  • To respond to your questions, messages, and survey feedback.
  • To deliver, maintain, secure, and improve the website.
  • To send occasional updates about products or offers, where you have opted in. You can unsubscribe at any time.

Third-party services we use

We rely on trusted third-party providers to operate the site and our business. When you interact with these services, their own privacy policies also apply:

  • Cloudflare Pages — website hosting and delivery.
  • Substack — newsletter subscriptions and delivery.
  • Formspree — processing form and survey submissions.
  • Etsy and Gumroad — where our products are sold. Purchases happen on those platforms and are governed by their privacy policies; we do not process payments on this website.
  • Pinterest and other social platforms — where we share content. If you arrive from or interact with these platforms, their policies apply.

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We share information only with the service providers above as needed to operate, or where required by law.

Cookies

This website does not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. Some third-party services we embed (such as a newsletter sign-up form) may set their own cookies; that is controlled by those providers under their policies. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings.

Data retention

We keep the information you provide (such as your email or survey responses) only as long as needed for the purposes described here, or until you ask us to delete it. Aggregate, non-identifying technical logs may be retained for security and analytics.

Your choices and rights

  • Unsubscribe — every newsletter email includes an unsubscribe link.
  • Access or delete your data — email us and we will help you access, correct, or delete the personal information we hold about you.

Depending on where you live (for example, under the GDPR or CCPA), you may have additional rights regarding your personal data. Contact us and we will honor applicable requests.

Children's privacy

This site is intended for professionals and is not directed to children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Effective” date above. Significant changes will be reflected on this page.
